Southern California Mountain Bikers Message Board › Topanga to Will Rogers using Two car system

I'm an outta shape newbie and love biking. I still have problems with stamina going uphill, so I do take alot of breaks. I want to ride from Topanga to Will Rogers, but I know I won't be able to make it back (ya, see the out of shape part above). I'd like to meet someone who would be willing to do the two car thing. We leave one car at Will Rogers and take the other one with the bikes to Topanga. Ride down to Will Rogers, load up the bikes, and go back to the car at Topanga. I presume this ride will probably take about 2-4 hours (again, see the outta shape part above).
I've ridden from Topanga to the beginning part of where it splits off to Will Rogers. The first mile or two of Topanga is major uphill on a fire road. I usually stop a few times on this major uphill section for 5 minute breaks. Ok, ok, I'll even admit that on some parts of that fire road, I just walk my bike up with my head down in shame. But once it branches off to the Will Rogers single trail, it seems like it evens out and even goes downhill from there. Looks like a real fun ride. I can ride in the afternoons anytime after 2:00 pm on weekdays. I'm usually tied up on weekends though. I live in W. Los Angeles and have a bike rack that handles 2 bikes. So you also need a car that can handle 2 bikes (or hell, we can even lock our bikes and come back if you don't have a bike rack). Hit me up if you're interested. I welcome any suggestions. |
