What: Intermediate to Advanced - Sturtevant Trail to Lucky Baldwin's for beer

The Plan:
We load up the bikes onto cars and head to the top of Wilson. (If there is sufficient interest, we can bring the trailer and shuttle everyone to the top. If we get 6 to sign up we can discuss.) Once at the top, we will make our way past the observatory to the Sturtevant Trail or Mt Wilson Trail. Both trails are steep, technical and relentless downhill into Sierra Madre. This is not a beginner's ride but it is not an expert ride either. The key to enjoying this ride is staying in control and using good judgement.

Friday's are good because there are fewer people on the trail. Also mountain biking is a perfect way to ring in the weekend! If you have never been to Lucky Baldwins Pub you are in for a treat.

Logistics/Timing
Lets meet in Sierra Madre at 5:30. We need to depart @ 5:45PM - sharp. It will take an hour to get to top and gear up. 6:45PM - 8:15 - we are on the mountain. It is prudent to bring your lights. We shouldn't need them but if you flat or have other issues it would be nice to have them if we need to extend our time on the mountain. 8:15PM or so on - beer, conversation, and good times. At some point, those that shuttled to the top will need a ride to retrieve their cars.

IMPORTANT:
Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport, especially for those who tend to take risks. As event organizers we assume absolutely no responsibility for you or your equipment. We are simply a mountain biking “buddy”, nothing more. If you choose to participate you assume all risk involved. Also, please adhere to the following:

• Always wear a helmet when mountain biking. This is mandatory, no exceptions.
  
• Protective pads, gloves etc are recommended on more technical rides.
  
• Know your limitations, and do not attempt what you are not comfortable with. Hike-a-bike is no shame.
  
• Bring at least one spare tube, sunscreen, energy bars/food and enough water. Hydration packs are encouraged.
  
• If you have radios, toolkit, pump/co2, or first aid kit, bring them.
  
• Be familiar with and follow trail rules and etiquette.
