Sure helps to be better prepared for a ride. While last week it was a bit of a struggel this week was awesome. I'm going to have to rank this ride right up there with Cannell and as many of you know I do it every weekend it is open. While this is much different it has the same "feel" in that it is an adventure as well as an epic ride. Once you start you have to finish-no whimp outs and you feel very isolated.
another great ride through the desert. even more fun now that we knew the trail better. a little sunnier this time but for the most part weather was perfect.
Not sure it could have been any better? We all got to the top with no problem and some did Chiquito, some did San Juan, some did both and some did San Juan twice. No matter what you did it was great, especially the afternoon run when the trail was virtually empty of other riders. The winds kept it nice and comfortable. Very sweet.
Sweeeeet! Always one of the best rides in So Cal but the clear cool weather made it even better. Lots of debris on the trail from the winds made some trail maintenance necessary. Can't wait to do it again.
Everyone made the ride - on time. We had a great ride and one of our fastest elapsed times too! I never get tired of this ride. If you are thinking about making this ride - do! You are missing out!
Truly one of the best rides in So Cal. The weather couldn't have been more perfect with great views and temps in the 60's. This trail always gives the feel of being far away from the big city. We only encountered 6 people on the trail, which is actually quite unusual to see that many. How sweet it is.
Great group. Started w 8 riders. 3 had other commitments so had to cut out at the halfway point. 5 of us turned it into a 27 mile ride with 3 solid climbs. The single track descents down Backbone and Guadalasco were awesome. The weather couldn't have been better for riding. The 27 was pushing it a bit. Def need more gels/power bars if we do that one again
The mud made this a brutal climb, would've rated it 5 stars if it were dry out. The group downhill was great - probably had 20 riders do the downhill down Tapia Spur Single Track
Great option for Ventura County. Challenging climb, about a 15 minute downhill down fire roads. Only 4 stars because I prefer a little more single track. It was a bit sandy at the bottom. Overall fun though.
