GMR X-C - yes ride up and down

A favorite place to shuttle now just got even better. Instead of driving up we are going to ride up and down. Come join us. We will meet in the parking lot, ride up to the 'curve' and up the trail. Probably not the best trail for buck beginners but Novices will do fine.

@RobV - I think so. Obviously we are just experimenting with places and times. We usually do a road ride on Thursdays to give our bodies a rest come the weekend. Thanks for the feedback.

Glendora Mountain Road has been closed due to a car going over the edge and starting a fire.
So that means that we could potentially ride up the paved road uncontested by vehicular traffic

up da dirt it is! Actually, da gas guy at Costco is a cyclist... he said they were suppose to open up GMR today since the wreck/fire was couple days ago. So the road may have cars on it by tomorrow. ALSO: My buddy Ed that was going to come has bailed- but I will be there, and if you will be there then that makes two of us.. and Matt? I think he lives nearby and rides Chantry flats with you doesnt he? call me or text me so I can get your number okay?

I've done this ride many times and for sure it is not for a novice. The ride up the dirt is not easy and it is 8 miles long. It also has mostly western exposure which makes it very hot this time of year.

Outstanding ride. The shadows were long and the breeze steady so heat was not a factor. While the trails was rutted and narrow, everything else was perfect. We split in two. Matt, my guest rode down the entire spine with only two bobbles. Dang! Hawaiian and I climbed to the top and opted to ride down Glendora Mountain Road as the light was faltering. What a great ride and we are looking into making it a monthly or twice monthly ride!
