We are going to cancel this meetup because it conflicts with another meetup groups meetup on the same date an the same place. For anyone wishing to do Cannell on Sunday we will still schedule it.
How about doing Mt Pinos and Cannell in Kernville the next day? Mt. Pinos is a great single track shuttle. Move on to Kernville after riding Mt Pinos (about 1.5 hour drive). Do the famous Cannell shuttle from Kernville the next morning, Sunday. Cannell is a 24 mile single track that starts at 9200 ft and stays above 8500 for 18 miles followed by a 5000 ft descent in 8 miles back to Kernville. Camping and hotels are available in Kernville. One could leave Mt Pinos and stay in a cheap hotel in Bakersfield driving to Kernville in the morning. Shuttle leaves at 8:30 for the Cannell ride. You must check in by 8:00 AM with MRA so staying in Kernville will allow sleeping in a little later. The shuttle cost on Sunday will be $36.05 and you must prepay with MRA to assure a seat.
Paul and Luis are doing Cannell on Friday and I think Sunday. Due to lack luster interest and people going to Mammoth this event has been scaled back. Still I'd hit up Paul today. Hope that helps.
i think saldivar and marcela are heading up to mammoth this weekend. (maybe to meet up with lisa g) you guys should touch base with them.
They are headed up this weekend. I am gonna let Paul articulate more of what he was thinking about here :)
Chris you don't have to do Cannell on Sunday to do Pinos on Sat
the pic in this posting looks like a trail at big bear...
@Chris G - Yep, that's Big Bear and specifically, that's Jr. in the photo.
@mark. i'm still doing snow summit the sunday after mt pinos. depending how many sign up for SART you can do pinos and Big Bear...unless you're camping out there since they are close together.
