We had have to move this to 5PM start. The road to Chantry closes at 8PMnow! I know it doesn't work for all of you we will get ya next time.
We will be starting at the Chantry Flats parking lot. Take Santa Anita Dr. north from the 210 Fwy all the way to the end at the upper parking lot. From there we will take the single track that connects to the Wintercreek trail down into Santa Anita Canyon and back out to Chantry Flats. The loop is approximately 6 miles mostly single track. The trail is fairly technical and best done on a full suspension bike. There are 3 miles of climbing so I wouldn't suggest a big heavy bike. This ride will be entirely in the shade. We should easily be able to finish this ride in under 2 hours.
@Armando - come on out and ride. We will let Paul and Matt roll us out. If it is you and me in the back then that is how it is!
The cool thing out this ride is that it is cool at Chantry when everywhere else is 110.
@The new to Chantry riders - we start pretty much on time. If you are going to be late text me AT LEAST 60 minutes prior. There is 0 cell reception up there.
I work in Glendora and dont finish until 5 PM AT THE EARLIEST ! ! If the ride is less than 2 hrs how come you start with 3 hrs until closing? I'm not whining... I'm just almost sort of kinda whining
@High waiin - oh we used to play that game. What happens when you get a flat or break a spoke or someone is slow? Part of the reason for the change is that the attitude around Chantry has changed. They have NEW signs with new road closure copy. I wish we could run later.
Dis trail keeps getting better and better. It was a great repreive from the heat of the city. It was 20 degrees cooler in Chantry. We saw a small bear, and a large gopher snake. The streams are still running strong too. If you like technical X-C riding consider joining us!
yep always a blast Chris, I always finish wishing it was longer! See you on the next one!
I'm n00b and would consider me a B- group rider...I'm not the fastest but not a n00bie by any means...am I welcome to join?
