Encinal Backbone trail, near Mullholland and Encinal split off. Near the Malibu Country Club. about 30-40 minutes from LA.
This is a true begginers trail, mild single track switch backs, yet advanced riders well appreciate the down hill burms. This trail has recently opened and is not on most maps yet. It climbs up from the parking lot at Encinal and enters a pine forest at Mullholland then continues mild climb until you reach the fire road. you can continue on the trail all the way to Thousand Oaks. The downhill is what this is all about. although not flowy but in a couple of sections. the trail is well maintained, smooth and there are burms all the way down to Mullholland from the top. No jumps or rock gardens but the fast guys can pin the burms. Trail conditions are slightly dusty but there is traction. There is overgrowth in some sections.
First ride will be from the parking lot to the end of the single track. I'll lead any beginners up and back.
I will probably have further meet ups here as this is my favorite trial.
