Come join me and Chris Aragon for a full day of learning jumping skills at Chris's very own freeride park. You will spend the whole day learning different riding techniques on jumps, bike control in the air, and landings. All these skills will improve your down hill abilities and also improving your confidence as a mountain bike rider.

THE PLAN:
We are going to meet up at a near by parking lot at McDonald's and then ride over to the free ride park which is less then a quarter mile away. Once were all at the park Chris will give a orientation of the park and then start the period of instruction. Jumps at this park range from small jumps(beginner) to big jumps(advance) Chris will work with you at which ever level you feel comfortable at.

REQUIRED:

You must have elbow/knee pads, and a full face helmet. You must also have flat pedals no clip pedals will be allowed, flat footed shoes only(no running shoes), and you must also be able to drop your seat post down on your bike. These requirements are for your safety if you fail to meet these requirements you will not be allowed to participate in this event.

IMPORTANT:

This biking skill session is an inherently dangerous, especially for those who tend to take chances. You can get hurt or seriously injured. As event organizers we assume absolutely no responsibility for you or your equipment. We are simply mountain biking "buddies", nothing more. If you choose to participate you assume all risk involved. Also, please adhere to the following:

  • Always wear a helmet when mountain biking. This is mandatory, no exceptions.
  • Make sure your bike is in good working condition, with the tires properly inflated and the chain lubricated prior to the ride.
  • Protective pads, gloves etc are recommended on more technical rides.
  • Know your limitations, and do not attempt what you are not comfortable with.
  • Bring at least one spare tube, sunscreen, energy bars/food and enough water. Hydration packs are encouraged.
If you have a toolkit, pump/co2, or first aid kit, bring them.

Where's the best place to get a full face helmet that won't cost me an arm and a leg?

Chris Aragon is one of the managers at Performance Bike Store in Laguna. Several of our members are buying from him. Regardless of where you get - get one. Sadly this year I have seen 3 people use theirs. They are all still alive - quick clue - the ones they had were not cheap. . . Just a thought

Ended up getting one from performance. Even on clearance it wasn't too cheap!
