With the San Gabriels still recovering from the Station Fire and Mt. Pinos off-limits for the short term - it's on to the Glendora Mountain Road Shuttle. That's right the shuttle is back.
The trail is a mix of wide open, "flowy" fire road to over grown, technical and rocky single track. It is simple: go fast the ride is advanced, go slow to reasonably paced the trail is beginner to intermediate. Yes the trail is safe for beginners. If you have never ridden a mountain bike before, we will set you up with a buddy to ride down. There are several options to GMR: the main road, the Big Dalton cut-off and what I call the "Go" option.
All options start at the intersection of Glendora Mountain Road and the Monroe Truck Trail. After a few miles of skimming the ridge-line, the trail gives way from wide fire road to 'sinuousy' single-track and 'dives' into the canyon. The trail twists and turns throws rocks at you and is generally what we've come to expect of the San Gabriels. . .
Let Mt. Pinos be a reminder to me. I am going to focus on the people who do commit to me up front. To those who are signed up and paid up, I will: be where I say I'll be, be accessible by phone and will be happy to put in as many runs as you can handle before sunset. While we wait for the payment gateway to come up feel free to send payment to: punkfish@opticaledge.com via Paypal or Amazon. Thanks to those who are signed up via www.SCOAOutdoors.net!
Dan H - yeah I am way behind on this one. I'll take care of the payment thing - today. Also, unlike the Wilson shuttle this shuttle runs all "day". If you miss the 8:30 catch us on the next one or the one after that. . . Not too that 1 lift is $20 or you can ride all day for $30. We will limit it to 14 people all day - max. Hope that helps
This is an amazing ride for those that like to ride up or down. Please visit our new website: www.SCOAOutdoors.net for the full scoop. All rider levels are welcome.
“ AWESOME trail. I think we found a new hidden gem right in our backyards. Definitely want to do this one again. Also, I think we found some pretty good XC riding opportunities in the area as well. Thanks again for organizing this one Chris A! ”
“ Awesome day! 7 runs @ 6 miles. You can do the math - almost 45 miles of downhill riding. People are sore and bikes need to be tuned. That's right get yourselves ready for SATURDAY's Nobel Canyon! ”

I don't see anywhere to pay...neither here or on the SCOA web site.
I don't mind starting at 10AM if that works out better for everyone. In fact I'd RATHER start late. :)
